I'm tempted to just continue remaking some of my older art ad nauseum, but I'm sure somebody still paying attention would rather I start making more new stuff.
Kirby is my #1 obsession to make art of, and it has been since before I first started this account over a decade ago. I've made art of other video games as well, though, along with random individuals that I might be taking interest in at the time. I do wonder if anyone would like it if I started posting nature drawings once in a while or something, though. I find that I have a much easier (and personally more fun) time drawing animals and plants and the like compared to humans...
Okay, so...idk how many of those following me are paying attention or are ghost accounts or whatever. If you somehow managed to stick around for the past 10 years I've been here, you know that I was way more active in my college years than I am now. Times were different back then. In some ways, I was more cringey, but I also had more energy to make artwork and other related things.
After college, there was a period where I was unemployed and desperate for any source of income. I tried commissions and lets plays, and that ultimately didn't go anywhere. Then, when I finally did get my first full-time job, my motivation for art sank even lower. I would sometimes be bumped back up due to whatever major Discord server I was a part of at the time, but...Discord servers can only grow so large before they become too overwhelming for me.
Anyway, this is another attempt to get myself into creating artwork more regularly, to keep those juices flowing. I have done a few things in preparation for this. Firstly, I've stopped using GIMP and have graduated to Clip Studio Paint. As nice as GIMP was for a college student with no money, it's personally left my progress as an artist a bit stunted. Plus, I actually have money to spend on art programs now, and this one doesn't need a subscription to use. You may notice in my new artwork that the lines are much smoother than they used to be, and I won't hide that I am proud of that fact.
Secondly, I now have a new signature, which you will see in all my artwork from here on out. The original signature was made 5-ish(?) years ago, back in those desperate times. Not only is it outdated, but it doesn't quite reflect who I am anymore (or perhaps it never did and I'm only realizing that now). This signature is also the logo for my Youtube channel, and perhaps someday I'll have the motivation to post stuff there again as well. I have an odd idea on what I'd like to make a video on, but it's going to take a lot of planning and effort...
Thirdly, I've decided to venture into internet roleplays again. However, this newest RP account will not be hosted on dA. Instead, it will be on Tumblr. Why? Well, it's basically because I like the way things are organized there for RP stuff compared to here. In fact, the artwork I will be posting today is directly tied to said RP account. See, the way it works on Tumblr is that there are dialogue icons and bios and such. The artwork that is typically used for them are either stock images or someone else's art (presumably with the artist's permission). However, because I wish to challenge myself, I'm making all the art from scratch, much like how I did back when I ran ask/rp accounts for Enoch from OFF and Meta Knight.
Speaking of Meta Knight, this new account will actually involve him and the other 3 main stars from the Kirby series! It will be at https://four-4-dream-land.tumblr.com/ I haven't made any posts there yet. Hell, I'm not even done figuring out the HTML for the aesthetics I might want. However, the links do work. You can take a look at the Google Docs for each character, if you're interested. For those who interacted with the old Meta Knight account, there are going to be changes in how I portray him, especially since I'm focusing less on anime canon and more on game canon.
I think that covers everything for now. I know it's been a tough couple of years for more than just myself. I hope everyone's doing as okay as they can be.
